This series title “Iterations” as in, a new version, is deeply personal to me. This year feels a lot like stepping into a new iteration of myself. This series embodies the things that characterise me. The things that I am referring back to, the parts of myself that are true to me. The things that I am discovering, and stepping into in this part of life, that is my 30s. I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking around words like extending, and expanding into new parts of myself. I feel like I have a lot to grow into this year.
I generally treat my work as a visual diary, where themes I feel and engage with in life carry over to the canvas. Generally I aim to bring a feeling of relaxation to a home, or quiet energy. I love art that makes you feel. Art that is meaningful to the viewer whether through the palette, or through the connection a viewer feels to my words.
This work feels deeply connected to myself in a way where I took a deep focus on keeping the work true to myself, creating work that I would feel connected to whether it spent time in my own home, or as it moved on to a new space.
